The Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest is thrilled to announce that it has received an Global Grant for just over $100,000 for Zimbabwe from The Rotary Foundation. This is the first Global Grant for Newfoundland and Labrador and Northwest Rotary wants to thank the input of funds and volunteers from other clubs, Rotary District 7820, and friends of Rotary, which helped to make this grant possible.

Rotary will once again return to a rural village in Zimbabwe with the support of The Rotary Foundation grant.  With a focus on economic and community development initiatives, we will address many basic needs of the community. This project will provide crucial hospital supplies and other life-sustaining goods.  It will create a reliable source of water and, through irrigation, increase the availability of nutritious food. For the school children, there will be unprecedented access to information technology and online educational resources. This Adopt-a-Village project will send a team of Newfoundlanders to build leadership and project management skills to strengthen the community.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of The Rotary Foundation doing good in the world.  The Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest is pleased to announce this substantial grant during this special year. Learn more about the project here...http://www.rotaryzimbabwe.webs.com/
