We will car pool to the Colony of Avalon archaeological dig in Ferryland (approximately 1 hour 15 minute drive) where our guided tour will start at 10:30 AM and end at 12:00 noon.

Home - Colony of Avalon

After our tour, we will take lunch in the Tetley Tea Room where our menu options will be one of three choices:

Seafood Chowder made with halibut, shrimp, cod and salmon

BLT samdwich made with crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese on toasted homemade bread

Fish Cakes and Baked Beans made with Newfoundland salt fish and homemade baked beans with molasses and bacon

To top off the day, we will visit the Ferryland home of our own John Andrews where we will share a beverage and enjoy dessert of Orange Creamsicle Cake (a Rotary favourite), Eton Mess and assorted cookies. The refreshments will be Jackson-Triggs wines, lemonade, beer, and tea and coffee. The Chair of the Colony of Avalon Foundation will attend, and John has extended an invite to Mayor Sean Walsh.. THANK YOU JOHN!

Fee for participation is $25 per attendee.  PLEASE INDICATE YOUR MENU CHOICE IN THE COMMENTS SECTION UPON REGISTRATION.

Because of tour restrictions, the maximum capacity for this event is 20.  The event is open to Rotarians and their guests.
